Dr. Kam Yuen: From Kung Fu Grandmaster to the Yuen Method

What happens when a kung fu grandmaster, an engineer and a chiropractor come together in one person? A method is born that still inspires people all over the world: the Yuen Method. Its founder: Dr. Kam Yuen.

Today we would like to introduce you to this remarkable man – with respect, with gratitude and with real enthusiasm. Without him, our strengthenings would not exist in this form.

A life between kung fu, engineering and chiropractic

Dr. Kam Yuen was born in 1941 in Hong Kong. He became a grandmaster of the Tai Mantis style of Shaolin kung fu and was known in the martial arts world as the “Praying Mantis of North America”. A wide audience met him as a consultant and stunt coordinator on the television series “Kung Fu” – and as the martial arts teacher of the actor David Carradine.

But Dr. Yuen was far more than a fighter. He worked as an aerospace engineer, a profession that demands precision, logic and an eye for connections. Later he became a Doctor of Chiropractic. Three worlds that seem to have little in common at first glance – yet they interlock in his life’s work: the fighter’s fine body awareness, the engineer’s systems thinking and the chiropractor’s view of what keeps a person in balance.

The core idea: a good fighter senses the weakness

The method begins with a thought from the world of kung fu: a good fighter feels the weakness of an opponent. Dr. Yuen carried this thought inward. Instead of fighting against something, you feel where something is weak – and you strengthen exactly that spot.

At first he called his approach “Yuen Energetics”, later it became the Yuen Method. He wrote books about it, among them “Delete Pain and Stress On the Spot” together with Marnie Greenberg, and passed on his knowledge in courses and certification programs. Practitioners describe the method as a blend of Shaolin kung fu, observation of nature, psychology, Traditional Chinese Medicine and ideas from quantum physics.

The basic assumptions of the Yuen Method

The method rests on a few ideas that are surprisingly easy to remember. According to the teaching:

  • Feel instead of overthinking. The first step is perception: does something feel strong or weak? The method trusts direct sensing more than long analysis.
  • Strengthen weaknesses instead of fighting them. Where something is weak, the whole is thrown off balance more easily. When that spot is strengthened, the system can align itself better.
  • The body carries its own intelligence. Dr. Yuen spoke of physical, innate intelligence – the knowledge every body holds within. The method aims to support it, not replace it.
  • Body, mind and soul belong together. A weakness can be physical, mental or spiritual. The method always looks at the whole person.
  • Improvement instead of healing. It is about strengthening and unfolding potential – not about therapy.

Three thoughts from his courses

In recordings and materials from his courses you find sentences that show his attitude particularly clearly. We have picked three for you:

“Find a weakness, strengthen the weakness quickly.”

– Dr. Yuen

“Innate ability or innate intelligence is physical intelligence that is in you.”

– Dr. Yuen

“Yuen definitely is all about making improvements and not healing.”

– Dr. Yuen

Three sentences, one common thread: attention, trust in your own intelligence and the courage to start with yourself.

What remains

Dr. Kam Yuen passed away on June 24, 2023, at the age of 82. His knowledge lives on – in his books, in courses around the world and in the people who use his method and pass it on. We are grateful that we can build on this foundation.

What this means for you

The Yuen Method invites you to look at yourself with more attention, curiosity and kindness. At Quantum Health IO we turn its ideas into audio strengthenings. Our Quantum AI was trained by a student of Dr. Kam Yuen with the knowledge of the method and further methods of quantum healing. How it all fits together is explained on our method page. You can see which strengthenings are available in our shop.

And if you would like to know what quantum physics and quantum healing have to do with each other, read on in our article Quantum Healing and Quantum Physics.

Feel. Strengthen. Move on.
